November 2008 – €4.6m allocated to Kildare Co Co for remedial work of Silliot Hill Landfill

Deputy Aine Brady has been informed by the Minister for the Environment, John Gormley TD, that Kildare Co Co is to receive €4.6m towards remediation works at Silliot Hill Landfill site.

'In July, I made representation to the Minister to have additional funding granted for this project. The remediation of the site is important and the total grant now approved for the remediation works at Silliot Hill Landfill site is €6,68m.'

'Kildare Co Co have been informed of the decision which will allow works to proceed.' concluded Deputy Brady.
