Deputy Aine Brady has raised the issue of extensions existing schools and new schools for a number of areas in North Kildare with the new Minister for Education, Batt O'Keeffe.
'In recent years we have seen substantial investment in schools in the North Kildare area. However, we still have some gaps to fill and I am anxious to keep the pressure on the Department so that we can make further progress.'
'Maynooth Boys National School needs an extension. The Minister informed me that a technical site visit took place recently and the options for the school building project are being assessed at the moment.'
'The new school for Ardclough is at the architectural planning stage. I have pressed the case with the Minister to ensure that this project be given priority. '
'I have also pressed for further progress to the extension for the Clane Boys National School and for the proposed building project at Caragh National School, which is at an advance stage (Stage 2b - Detailed Design and Bill of Quantities) of the Architectural planning process.
'My main focus is to ensure that we provide sufficient school places in developing areas and I will keep the pressure on the Department to make progress on these projects' concluded Deputy Brady.
