June 2008 – €89,000 for Youth Clubs in Kildare says Brady
Deputy Aine Brady has been informed by the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O'Keeffe TD, that Kildare is to receive €89,000 in towards the support of youth groups and schools in Kildare.
'The Government has allocated the funding from the Dormant Accounts Fund and RAPID Leverage Fund to enhance facilities for youth groups and schools.' stated Deputy Brady.
'It is important that we target resources to counteract Educational Disadvantage and improve facilities for young people. The funding, for instance, will provide for a once-off small-scale equipment grant and assist, in a small way, with developing a better infrastructure for Kildare's youth.'
'Since getting elected last year, I have highlighted to all relevant Government Ministers, the requirement to continue to invest in facilities for our youth. Kildare has seen rapid residential development in recent years, and we must continue to invest in matching community and youth facilities.' concluded Deputy Brady who welcomed the investment in Kildare.
